Energy Booster Smoothy

1/2 an apple (fuji, granny smith, pink lady)
1 *banana
2 cups pinapple
2 cup broccoli (raw)
2 cup spinich (raw)
1/2 cup greek yogurt (plain)
2 cups of ice
1 cup liquid (water, almond milk, *almond water)
raw, organic agave syrup to taste.
1 1/2 tbsp. MCT oil (see below)

Place all ingredients in the blender...and blend.

Tips:
* Try freezing your over ripe bananas and use in your smoothies.
* Use the water you soak your almonds in when sprouting them. This water is full of nutrients.

Sprouting Almonds

Note: Not all almonds will sprout.  You will need organic ones.

1 mason jar (or any glass jar)
1 cup almonds
clean water to cover almonds

Thoroughly clean and  rinse your almonds with clean water.  Place almonds and enough fresh water to cover the almonds in the mason jar. Swish the almonds and water around in the jar then place in the fridge.

Change the water after 24 hours and discard this water.  Refill the jar with enough clean water to cover the almonds and swish around again.  Place back in the fridge.  Repeat daily (up to 7 days). After the 2nd soak, you can use the almond water to drink and cook with.  Your almonds will be ready when you see a little white sprout appear at the tip of the nut. Use almonds before 7 days expire.

Please view the video How To Soak and Sprout Almonds-Video for step-by-step process and a clear explanation as to why this is a health choice.

Berry Cherry Protein Shake

This is one of the healthiest shakes you can start or end your day with.  It is in keeping with the 20 grams of fat needed to take before the telaprivir.

Tip: I cut each banana into chunks, place one entire cut up banana into a small sandwich zip bag, and freeze.  This way I don't have to use the bananas up right away.

1/2 organic banana (frozen cut up pieces)
1/2 cup frozen organic mixed berries w/cherries (or any berries)
4 ice cubes
1/2 cup almond milk (unsweetened)
1 scoop of organic sprouted brown rice protein powder
1 1/2 tbsp MCT oil (flavorless coconut oil)
1 cup water

Place ingredients in blender and blend.  If you find it too thick, add more water. (22 grams of fat)

Morning Glory Smoothy

In a blender combine the following:

1 green apple (cut in large pieces)
1 banana
juice of one lemon (no seeds)
2 cups broccoli
1 cup water
then blend...add
1 to 2 large handful of fresh spinach leaves
1 cup pomegranate juice
and blend...add
2 cups ice
1 cup plain unsweetened yogurt (6 grams of fat)
1 tbsp. MCT oil (see above)

Blend until smooth. If you need to sweeten it, add agave nectar to taste preference.

This will fill 2 large mason jars about 3/4 of the way each. I generally have this for breakfast and 2 snacks during the day.

Keep refrigerated - use the same day.

Enjoy!
